Marcus Sheffield was called as Pastor in 1989. A native of Mexia, Marcus holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas A&M University and a Master of Divinity Degree and post-graduate study from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife Sheryl have two sons: Colby & Jordan.
Curt Pool is serving as the Interim Worship Pastor since early 2016. Curt is a native Texan and has been in the ministry for over 35 years serving in churches all across the state as youth pastor, education minister & worship pastor. Curt spent several years as Youth and Education Pastor here at FBC Mexia. Curt and his wife Suzanne currently live in Plano, TX. Curt is the proud father of 4 boys, 3 step-daughters, 1 step-son and 8 grandchildren.
Drew Allen joined the staff in 2016. Drew and Juliann are both from Wortham where they now reside. They moved back home after serving at HopePark Church in Nashville, TN. While serving as student pastor at Copperfield Church in Houston, Drew graduated from the College of Biblical Studies-Houston in May 2010 with a Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Leadership. He and his wife, Juliann, have three children, Luke, Ansley, & Eli.

Jack Ballard was called to the church in 2000. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Jack holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama and a Master of Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is married to Pat who is a nurse at Parkview Regional Hospital. They have two children: Jodi & Josh
Ann Patton oversees all office work and publications along with finances and church contributions. She has been employed at FBC since 1972. She was recently remarried to Bob Talley of Mexia, TX. She has one daughter, Stacey, who lives with Ann's four grandchildren in Houston area.
Walter Van De Weghe oversees all custodial and maintenance work of our facilities and coordinates the calendar for building usage. He was employed by FBC in 1989. Walter and wife Bonnie have three children: Stephanie, Karla and Yvonne along with 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Lu Ann Campbell is in charge of enlisting workers for Extended Session on Sunday mornings and coordinating paid personnel for special activities.
Diana Nabors assumed the organist position in 1995. She works in the Law Office of Reed and Reed. She is married to John Nabors and they have two children, Kevin of Lake Mexia, and Kristen and husband Kent Vest of Plano.
Sheryl Sheffield came on as pianist in 1993. Sheryl recently retired after teaching Language Arts at Mexia Junior High School.
